2024.10.07
Thank you for your continued patronage of Katsukichi. The long hot summer is over, and it’s suddenly getting cooler. How are you all doing?
Today, we would like to inform you that the release date for Katsukichi’s winter specialty, “Domestic Fried Oysters,” has been decided.
This year (2024), sales will start from dinner time on October 8th (Tuesday).
*We operate Katsukichi, which has four stores: [Shibuya, Marunouchi, Hibiya, and Nihonbashi].
*Purchasing may be affected by typhoons or bad weather. Any changes will be announced on the official blog.
*Due to circumstances in the production area, it is assumed that the quantity purchased will be small in October. Please forgive us if the item is sold out.
We purchase raw oysters from Japan, such as Mie Prefecture and Okayama Prefecture, and combine several oysters into one fried oyster.
This traditional dish is made by purchasing fresh “raw oysters” that have just arrived at the early morning market, wrapping them in the highest quality fresh bread, and then frying them. Enjoy with plenty of tartar sauce.
The image below is from when I visited the oyster production site. It is summarized in an article. Please take a look if you like.
The video below is the uncut version taken at that time. The experience of harvesting oysters from the oyster trellis on board the boat is overflowing. Please take a look if you like.
